When you take macro shots in the range between 2.5 and 5 times the original, it is sometimes difficult to set the exact distance, especially when it is relatively dark. The LED ring light is simply attached to the front bayonet of the lens. This allows you to see the subject much better and brighter and to focus more precisely. You can use any power bank (5,000 mAh lights up for 6-7 hours) or a USB power supply as a power source. The connection is made to the ring light using the included micro USB cable.
